Hi! My name is Darren Hagler, 4C Academy Information Technology Instructor and Head Coach of the Commodores, 4C Academy’s award-winning robotics team.
I am originally from Albany, Georgia where I attended Albany High School. After school, I joined the US Navy where I worked as a Data Systems Technician for 8 years. Total, I have spent more than 24 years in the information technology industry with experience teaching on a collegiate level before joining the 4C Academy in 2017. I have a degree in Information Technology and a Master’s in Information Assurance. I currently hold over 16 industry certifications including A+, Network+, Security+, CEH, Oracle Administrator, Microsoft Certified Professional.
Students in the Information Technology pathway benefit from my real-world experience as well as hands-on experience with the computer systems here at the 4C Academy. Many of my students are also members of the 4C’s robotics team, The Commodores.

PATHWAY OVERVIEW
The information technology industry, including programming, is a dynamic and entrepreneurial field that continues to have a revolutionary impact on the economy and on the world. The Programming and Software Development pathway includes occupations involved in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of com- puter systems and software, requiring knowledge of com- puter operating systems, programming languages and software development.
Students in information technology learn and practice skills that prepare them for diverse post-high school education and training opportunities, from apprenticeships and two-year college programs to four-year college and graduate programs.
