Hi! My name is Jill Dervan, Health Informatics Instructor at the 4C Academy.  I am a business and health information management professional, which means I work behind the scene to code, analyze and protect patient health information.

Prior to joining the 4C Academy in 2017, I spent more than 30 years in an acute care hospital, followed by six years teaching at the collegiate level. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Lagrange College in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Columbus State University. I am credentialed through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).

The Health Informatics Pathway encompasses CTAE standards from the Health Science - Health Information Management/Medical Office cluster to create a pathway that prepares students for any role in the healthcare field.  This pathway is an excellent choice for any student who is interested in the healthcare field, but is undecided on what path to take. Students obtain a solid foundation as they continue their education toward administrative healthcare careers, as well as hands-on medical careers.
